Bleeding on Right Pushes Brain to Left

ID: exh62154b
This exhibit depicts two anterior cut-away (coronal) views of the skull revealing a transparent view of the brain in each image. These transparent views of the brain reveal the network of cerebral arteries which provide blood supply to the various regions of the brain. These two images compare the following conditions: Initial condition with a large right sided hematoma creates midline shift forcing the brain tissue towards the left; Subsequent condition following prolonged devascularization reveals the large infarct within the left frontal lobe of the brain.
