This full color stock medical exhibit depicts a perforation of the small bowel that occurred during a laparoscopic procedure. The first image illustrates the surgical procedure that led to the bowel perforation. An anterior view of the female figure as well as a side cut-away view show the laporoscopic instruments inserted into the abdomen and perforating a portion of the patient's small bowel. The final image shows the subsequent condition of the patient's abdomen following this negligent act. The perforated segment is surrounded by fluid and multiple bilous abscesses.
