This medical exhibit begins with one anterior view of the left torso and arm of this child with the skeletal anatomy of the arm and shoulder shown transparently beneath the skin illustrating the pre-operative condition. This image reveals the deformity which had developed following the brachial plexus birth injury with the arm internally rotated and slightly abducted with the forearm pronated. Three steps of the surgical repair procedure are illustrated showing the cutting and rotation of the humerus in order to return the arm to proper anatomical position.
