This stock medical exhibit portrays a left humerus fracture and prosthetic replacement in a series of illustrations. The first illustration shows the pre-operative condition in an anterior view of the left shoulder, including a displaced fracture of the left humerus. The second illustration shows the first step of the procedure, including the creation of an incision below the clavicle on the front of the left shoulder to expose the fracture site. The third illustration shows the removal of the loose humeral head and bony fragments. The remaining shaft is reamed for the prosthesis.
