This stock medical exhibit features illustrations depicting injuries to the right hand steps from the operative procedure utilized to correct the situation. The first image provides an orientation view of the back of a normal right hand and includes the skeletal structures found in this region. The second shows the amputation of the second digit, partial amputation of the third digit and a crush injury to the fourth finger at the nail. An enlargement is included to highlight the amputation injuries. The third injury shows the amputation of the second digit at the distal phalanx. The fourth illustration then shows the wound closed with sutures. The fifth illustration shows the repair to the third digit. The final image shows a palmar view of the right hand following the repairs. Insets are included to show a mallet deformity.
